One of the largest exchange organizations worldwide, Deutsche Börse AG, is considering the launch of cryptocurrency derivatives. This was stated in a speech at an industry event in London, Jeffrey Tessler (Tessler Jeffrey):
«We are working hard in this direction. However, before we create the product with something like bitcoin, we want to make sure that we understand how it works, and it’s not easy,» said the head on the main markets of Jeffrey Tessler.
When CME Group and the Global Markets CBOE launched futures on bitcoin in December last year, Deutsche Börse could only watch, as no major European Bourse are unable to follow the example of their American colleagues, given the cautious approach of the authorities of the European Union to the regulation of the nascent cryptocurrency market.
And yet, the launch of cryptocurrency derivatives on the basis of the stock exchange in the near future should not expect, because in the first place in Deutsche Börse AG needs to estimate the volatility of the cryptocurrency market and reduce the risks of price fluctuations before you talk about specific products. In addition, companies want to ensure that the market is the demand for such products, and regulators have come to a consensus and are ready to work in this direction.
