In-app Twitch Streaming added support for cryptocurrencies

Streamlabs company announced that it is now a popular streaming platform Twitch allows streamers to accept payments in cryptocurrency. The functionality is already integrated into the app.

Streamlabs will use Coinbase as the payment processor, so the streamers would need to have an account on this cryptocurrency platform and to connect the service to their accounts. Then the audience will automatically translate bitcoin into their account.

In the first stage the service will support bitcoin, ether, litecoin and bitches. All these cryptocurrencies are available on Coinbase, but in the future the company plans to expand this list. Also, streamers don’t have to pay a fee for the use of the new service, it will be charged only when streamers will want to cash out cryptocurrency and exchange it for Fiat.

According to Newzoo, during the period from January to April of 2018, users of Twitch broadcast more than 2 billion hours. Today, about 15% of Twitch streams of data are created using professional applications Streamlabs OBS, which was recently released by the company.

Streamlabs also supports many other platforms: YouTube, Mixer, Facebook LIve, Periscope and Picarto. As reported in the company during the first quarter of 2018, it has already paid more than 34 million dollars.
