Tehran intends to use cryptocurrencies for leaving under the influence of the dollar in the framework of trade with Russia, said the Chairman of the economic Committee of the Iranian Parliament, Iran Mohammad Reza’s Parabrahma (Mohammad Reza Pourebrahimi).
«The last two years raised important issues about the use of cryptocurrencies. This is one of the good ways to bypass the use of the dollar and the SWIFT system. We ordered the Central Bank in Iran to begin to develop proposals for the use of crypto-currencies,» – said he during the meeting with the head of the Federation Council Committee on economic policy Dmitry Mezentsev.
Parabrahma said that this topic has been discussed in the state Duma Committee on economic policy, where share a similar initiative.
«If we can move forward in this work, we will be the first countries that used the cryptocurrency in the exchange of goods», – he said.
Informed of Parabrahma reported that the inhabitants of the country transferred more than $2.5 billion in foreign trading platform and have converted them into cryptocurrency. However, prior to that, he called another number: $30 billion.
This message came shortly after the Central Bank of Iran (CBI) has forbidden banks and financial institutions conducting transactions related to the cryptocurrency. How to reconcile these conflicting approaches, the Iranian official explained.
