The Chairman of the Board OJSC «Belarusian currency and stock exchange» (BCSE) Andrew AbhimAna told reporters that «the Belarusian currency and stock exchange will never carry trade or other cryptocurrency transactions», as referred to in decree No. 8 of crypto currency exchange is a «separate legal entity» and they are «irrelevant to the BCSE haven’t.» According to him, «cryptocurrency transactions – it is the prerogative of the Park of high technologies». However, the initial version of the decree involve the BCSE in transactions with cryptocurrencies.
According to AbhimAna, when dealing with cryptocurrency, the government gives no guarantees to receive income or profits, and is not responsible for the repayment of funds.
The exchange reminded that the only means of payment in Belarus is the Belarusian ruble.
On March 28 comes into force, decree No. 8 «On the development of the digital economy», signed by President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko. According to the document, Belarus will be officially ICO, to use cryptocurrency to implement smart contracts. Thus Belarus became the first jurisdiction in the world with a comprehensive legal regulation of businesses based on the technology of the blockchain. The decree imposed no restrictions or special requirements for operations for the creation, placement, storage, disposal or exchange of tokens.
