Carmaker Daimler AG develops blockchain

The largest automobile concern Daimler AG, in cooperation with the German commercial Bank Landesbank Baden-Württemberg (LBBW), has completed the test blockchain project, which issued corporate bonds with a total value of 100 million euros.

In the pilot project also participated banks in Esslingen-Nürtingen, Ludwigsburg and Ostalb. All transactions in the framework of the test, produced using the technology of the blockchain and secured by means of cryptography. The period of maturity equal to 1 year.

«The blockchain is without doubt a very promising technology but not Mature enough. At the moment you must, in conjunction with like-minded people, develop the technology, to accumulate knowledge and experience, and actively share them,» said Jan Brecht (Jan Brecht), Director of Daimler’s investment.

The next step of Daimler and LBBW will the organization issuing joint loans with the use of the blockchain.

Note that the German car company Porsche also showed interest in the technology of the distributed registry is already testing the technology of the blockchain in their cars.
