Americans may soon make cryptocurrency transactions from their cars and quickly get to your destination. A subsidiary of Ford Motors Dearborn received a patent for the technology based on the cryptocurrency. The system is called Managed Cooperatively Merge and Pass (CMMP). The patent application was filed in 2016 and has been recently approved for Ford Global Technologies.
CMMP is a system based on tokens, which works in your own environment to help control the car on the road. It is a platform for communication between machines in which with the help of GPS technology, drivers can communicate to each other about the intensity of traffic on the roads. The system will also track and collect data about drivers.
«The system of CMMP works with the individual token-based transactions, where commercial vehicles and vehicles of consumers agree to Transact in bitcoin,» reads the patent.
This gives the vehicle the consumer «privileged access to the road» during periods of heavy congestion of tracks, allowing you to avoid traffic jams and faster to get to destination, paying a certain price. The patent explains: «commercial vehicles voluntarily take a slower lane to allow the vehicle a customer could take a more advantageous position on the road.»
Services commercial vehicles are paid in tokens CCMP. The price depends on the win on time, which requests the vehicle to the client. In the patent application explains:
«For example, the driver of the car customer who is late to a meeting may ask a commercial vehicle within 10 minutes to help travel on a particular road or highway for 60 tokens CMMP at the rate of 10 seconds a privileged access token».
The application is not specified, will be supported by other cryptocurrencies.
Such a project could well become the subject of ICO of any startup. However, Ford seems to have left startups «with the nose» and she took a promising niche. Ford plans to invest $ 11 billion in electric vehicles by 2022, and has invested significant sums in mobile technology, and over the next 5 years will invest more than a billion dollars in artificial intelligence.
