Gomel state University named F. Skorina opens new specialty — «economic Informatics», said the rector of the University Andrey Kruk in an interview to BelTA.
After the four-year course, students will gain knowledge in the field of e-business, the study of system, economic and business analysis, technology design, testing, implementation and maintenance of software, development of corporate information systems, as well as the skills of the justification of the business plans and investment projects.
The course program includes the study of the technology of the distributed registry and operations with cryptocurrencies, said Andrew Kruk. Provided the budget and paid forms of education.
Specialists of this profile expressed interest already more than 30 leading organizations working in the field of IT, among which Exadel, IBA-Gomel, EPAM Systems and others. The University will prepare shots for residents of high technology Park, Technopark and other major campaigns.
The educational process will be based on practice-oriented model of education – from first year students will undergo practical training, learning in seminars, workshops and trainings.
«The demand in such specialists have appeared as a result of the formation of information society, the globalization of national economies and development of IT companies. Under a new specialty will prepare highly qualified professionals in the field of contemporary digital economy: business and system analysts, programmers and database administrators, economists, electronic business systems», — said the first rector.
We will remind that on 21 December 2017, the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko signed a decree «On the development of the digital economy». This step has created unprecedented conditions for the development of the IT industry and gave the country a significant competitive advantage in developing new digital economy.
