Igor Shuvalov: no need to deeply regulate the cryptocurrency ecosystem

The Cabinet intends to reduce and simplify existing laws related to the regulation of cryptocurrencies and blockchain, said the first Vice-Premier of RF government Igor Shuvalov at a joint meeting of the collegiums of the Ministry of economic development of Rospatent and of the Board of the Fund «SKOLKOVO».

There is a separate bill, which is developing the Central Bank. We now want much the bills to cut, simplify. Just to introduce below slightly to denote that it is all legal. How deep should now be resolved, nobody knows. And we should not strive to do it,» he said.

We are talking about the draft law «On digital of financial assets», March 20, which was submitted to the Duma. He gives a definition of bitcoin, a token, a smart contract mining and deals with the digital currency.

On March 26 the Chairman of the state Duma Vyacheslav Volodin and the Chairman of the Duma Committee on state construction and the legislation Pavel Krasheninnikov has introduced the bill of amendments in the first, second and fourth of the Civil code.
