In Novgorod will be launched blockchain project for recording and issuance of medicines which will fight the counterfeiting and resale of expensive prescription drugs, bought on budget money. The project was developed by the regional government in monitoring the security of citizens with medicines in cooperation with Vnesheconombank (VEB).
The project created a unified registry of e-prescriptions combined with the data from the internal systems of the regional hospital and 1C, which keeps records of the medications. In the future, the registry will also be made to the data to join the project pharmacies.
According to the adviser of the Chairman of Vnesheconombank (VEB) Vladimir Demin, complete pilot is planned for December 2018. After this can be decided on its scaling.
Project participants – patients, which are both at outpatient and in-patient treatment will be able to track the presence of drugs in the warehouse, its shelf life and manufacturer. Authenticity of medicines will be checked in the marking system. Thanks to blockchain, the data will be available to the regional health Ministry, health Department and some other agencies.
«The result is transparent and understandable for all participants of the process service. The patient receives a prescription with a QR label, the information automatically goes in the unified register, linking patient data and assigned him the drug, including information on specific package on the basis of product labeling,» – said the head of Vnesheconombank Sergey Gorkov.
