Mark Karpeles, former CEO of failed exchange MtGox, recently spoke about his aversion to bitcoin, admitting that he no longer owns any cryptocurrency. He stated in his last post on Reddit. He said:
«Technology will definitely evolve, but bitcoin can be a problem in order to evolve and keep up with her.»
The comment he replied to a question from a Reddit user who asked whether he believes Karpeles bitcoin. Former exchange President also added that currently he does not own bitcoin or any other cryptocurrency.
The consequences of the collapse of MtGox in 2014 still affect the market. Recently it became known that, Nobuaki Kobayashi (Nobuaki Kobayashi), managing assets in case of bankruptcy of MtGox, has already sold about 35 thousand BTC and BCH totaling $ 400 million from December 2017 to February 2018. This large sale could be one of the causes of the problems in the cryptocurrency market in the first months of 2018.
Recently, mark Karpeles, said that he refused from a bitcoin MtGox. As reported by the Wall Street Journal, Karpeles can get nearly a billion dollars after the users of the exchange will be implemented returns the current calculation. Former exchange President said that he does not need the money and that he would support a plan to change the status of the bankruptcy case to another type of legal procedure called «civil rehabilitation». If this happens, the users of the exchange can obtain a refund in bitcoin, not in the Japanese yen, as is planned now.
Mark Karpeles reluctance to have anything to do with the cryptocurrency industry is understandable, considering the wave impacts caused the collapse of its exchange. In a post on Reddit Karpeles also said:
«It is possible that I will continue to develope, but at the moment I don’t want it to be associated with cryptocurrencies».
