As reported by Japanese source Mainichi Shimbun, a part of funds stolen as a result of breaking major Tokyo cryptocurrency exchange Coincheck in January, was translated into Russian area Yobit.
It is noted that of the 58 billion yen ($533 million) in the NEM tokens stolen from the exchange Yobit was translated to tokens by 1.2 billion yen ($10.2 million), less than 2% of the total amount stolen. Japanese law enforcement agencies conduct proper checks.
Previously Vice President of the company NEM Foundation Jeff MacDonald reported that the scammers are trying to implement the stolen coins, he traced their route and found that they are trying to sell the six stock exchanges.
Earlier, representatives of the exchange reported the compensation of the damage due to own funds – we are talking about NEM token payment of $400 million, based 88.549 yen ($0.81) for every coin.
