The U.S. marshals service (USMS) has announced that it puts on the auction of bitcoins confiscated nearly $ 20 million.
The Agency stated that it would conduct an auction for the sale of 2170 BTC seized in connection with various criminal, civil and administrative cases.
It is noteworthy that of the selling at auction of bitcoins that were once seized from Sean bridges (Shaun Bridges), an agent of the U.S. Secret service, which participated in the investigation into the anonymous trading platform Silk Road and was subsequently arrested for corruption and the theft of 20 000 BTC from Silk Road owner Ross Ulbricht (Ross William Ulbricht).
Sale, which is scheduled to launch on March 19 from 8-00 to 20-00 PM et, will take place in three stages:
Series a will contain two units of 500 BTC;
Series B – 11 blocks of 100 BTC;
Series C – 1 block of 70 BTC.
To participate in the auction, potential buyers must submit the signed registration form the participant, and to Deposit USMS Deposit in the amount of 200 000 USD until the end of the week.
Will the buyers of these bitcoins, claim bitcoins, Gold and Bitcoin Cash, the report did not specify. At the moment the aggregate value of these coins is approximately 2.8 million dollars. However, coins forks can be obtained only from the owners of the wallets at the time of the relevant hardforce.
In the past few years, the USMS conducted a series of bitcoin-auctions, the most famous of which was three acution where was the for sale of bitcoins seized in the process of closing down the illegal trading site Silk Road.
