One of the leading stock exchanges of Japan, Tokyo Financial Exchange, it plans to launch bitcoin futures next year, said the Executive Director of the exchange Chose Ohta.
According to him, in January, the Tokyo Financial Exchange plans to establish a working group to study the possibility of launching futures on bitcoin, which will require changes in legislation. If approved by the regulator, namely the amendment of the Law on the financial instruments and exchange according to which cryptocurrencies will be recognized as financial products, exchange place futures «as soon as possible».
Japan is already considered to be one of the biggest markets of Bitcoin at the expense of the loyal cryptocurrency regulation, which the government recognized legal tender. Tokyo Financial Exchange has announced plans to trade futures on bitcoin, following a similar resolution of the Commission on trade commodity futures U.S. (CFTC).
